Viewmaster 3D Viewer on Your Chest

Viwemaster 3D
You know how much we love iconic images of the 1950s and 60s, so it should come as no surprise that we love the old Sawyer's Viewmaster and this retro graphic of the classic stereoscopic viewer. We've just debuted this new Viewmaster 3D T-Shirt at our Cafepress store, RetroRanger.

KXLY Got It Goin On

Here's a TV station that understands the power of accumulating content. While lots of television station don't seem to have a direction for their web sites, KXLY in Spokane is putting its archive of footage up on their website, and allowing anybody to embed the clips in their websites...just like a youtube video and just like I've embedded the Spokane Indians Opening Day report below. I just sampled a few of the 4,800 of videos at the site and didn't see any sponsorships, but would assume that's coming. One thing for certain, when these videos start showing up all over Spokanite websites, KXLY will certainly reap the branding rewards.

Antique Topo Art on Metal Cases

I find that topographic items always sell well. People like things from and about their town or city. So I'm starting a new line of metal cigarette cases with antique birds-eye views of towns and cities all across America. These type of aerial views were very popular in the second half of the 19th century and nearly every town of note has an antique birds-eye floating around out there somewhere. Of course, many are quite rare.
First up are cigarette cases featuring views of Manhattan in 1874 and San Francisco in 1878. I like both of these subjects because they are so recognizable. Even 130 years later they are still instantly known. The very definition of iconic.

New Page for Rainbows, Cool Leather Sandals

Late night project, building a new page for Savant7...this one peddling Rainbow Sandels. I tried something a little different this time, actually embedding an Amazon aStore with an iframe. Seems to interface pretty well and all the action stays on my website. Which may or may not be a good thing.

One More for the Savant7 Portfolio

One more minisite built for the experimental Savant7 project for the spelling-challenged. Another travel site, this for searchers of Cheap Airfairs...as opposed to Cheap County Fairs, lol.
I've fleshed this site out more than the others, more content and more substance. Not sure if it will make much difference with visitors or with Big G but we'll see.

Soft Cushy Rubber Flip Flops From Brazil

The best flip flops made, by far. I just worked up another savant7.com webpage, this for Haviana Flip Flops (yes, Havaianas). Made in Brazil of the finest, softest rubber, it's an ultra-comfortable flip-flop perfect for poolside or racing through the grocery store.

Finding the Best Price when Flying

    Discount Airfair
Built a new savant7 webpage today for those searching for discount airfair. Its an affiliate play with cFairs which has some amazingly good travel bargains. I really like cFairs membership model, thinking the payout will be better than those travel sites paying straight commission.

    Insuring the Family Pets

Just threw up a quick webpage for people looking for info on Pet Insurence. Right now the page links through to the good folks at Quick Care, that may change depending on available affiliate partners.

yes, I do know how to spell, but not everyone was champion of Mrs. Olander's 2nd grade class spelling bee. It is the non-champions we wish to surve.

    Irrefutable Fact of Life #23,481

Irrefutable Fact of Life #23,481 reads like this: I will never own a Kaiser Darrin.

Sigh. There is simply no way I can refute that statement. It's true.

So, settling for nothing but second best, how about a snazzy watch featuring a cool 1954 Kaiser Darrin right on the dial face. Plus in the lower half of the dial is the Kaiser Darrin badge with the racing flags and also the name in chrome script.

Here's your choice. $80,000 for the car, or $20 for the watch.

The Kaiser Darrin Wristwatch is available at my eBay store, All-4-Corners. Also look for the Kaiser Darrin Wall Clock with the same face design.

    For Those About To Crock

Playing around last night, checking some keywords, fiddling with misspellings. Anyway, that led to the creation of a new website for folks who are looking for Crock Shoes. Yes, yes, yes, I know it's Crocs. But there are a lot of people who prefer the the extra k, and who are we to argue?

Took a little time this afternoon to launch a new website for people interested in buying a digital camera with zoom. Expect news, reviews, recommendations and other stuff.

    Playing with Google Maps

I'm learning how to make simple Google Maps this morning. They are simple, just a few clicks, fill in some blanks, and there you go, a map of whatever. The created map can then be embedded in a webpage, and hopefully even blogger. Let's see:

There you go, a map to my kingdom.

New Teddy Roosevelt Watch and Clock

Teddy Roosevelt WristwatchSeems like Teddy Roosevelt's name is getting tossed around a lot these days. I usually hear it in comparisons to John McCain.
Apparently McCain has to go back to 1902 to find a Republican he relates to.
I'm a big fan of TR, especially his cowboy years in the Dakotas and his take-charge "Rough Rider" attitudes. I love a quote TR made in 1899 when he was governor of New York:

"Far better it is to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even though checkered by failure, than to take rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy much nor suffer much, because they live in the great twilight that knows neither victory nor defeat."

I used the beginning of this wonderful sentiment in the design of my new Theodore Roosevelt Watch for sale at All-4-Corners, my eBay store. That quote, plus a facsimile signature, and a classic photograph of the president that has been carefully colorized. This face design is also available on the Theodore Roosevelt Wall Clock, also at All-4-Corners.

Gentleman Jim at Boulder Hot Springs

I was reading a biography of boxer James Corbett and saw where he had spent 1896 training at Boulder Hot Springs, Montana. That got me thinking of doing a special shirt for the training camp...our Gentleman Jim's Training Camp T-Shirt

Peire Vidal, Azalais, and Howard Pyle

I always enjoy when I get to work with classic illustrative art. Mainly because I feel like I'm giving new life to something that is for the most part lost and/or forgotten.Troubadour Peire Vidal
This morning I had the pleasure of working with "Peire Vidal chant a la belle Azalais" by Howard Pyle. This is a scene done by Pyle for Harper's in 1903, and shows the French troubadour Peire Vidal entertaining his patron Azalais of Montferrat.
I'm not sure if a French troubadour of 1202 would be playing a lute, and think maybe Pyle took a little historical liberty. But still, I think this is a wonderful scene and works nicely on one of the chrome metal cigarette cases that I sell on eBay.

    John Dillinger Webpage

I had planned on not doing much today, just sit around and watch the Giants game on TV. But by the third inning the Giants had wore out their welcome so I set about diddling on the computer. The final product was a John Dillinger webpage that may just drive some eyes to my Dillinger eBay items. Expecting Dillinger to really heat up this summer and fall as we approach the opening of Johnny Depp's new "Public Enemy" movie. We'll just have to see.

    New Metropolitan Design for Cafepress

Uploaded a new Nash Metropolitan T-Shirt design to RetroRanger. Like all my Cafepress items it is available on baby onesies, and I blogged about these on my new LittleMetro blog of Metropolitan stuff. Met owners tend to be older and I know that there are a lot of little grandkids out there that would be adorable in a Met onesie!

Happy Fourth of July - Fly That Flag

A very cool chrome metal case featuring wonderful antique art, "Birth of the Flag" by Henry Mosler. Designed for use as a cigarette case...this metal box would be great for a sewing kit, or for holding money, business cards, or any other small item. A great gift and an exclusive custom design that you'll find from no other dealer.

    Happy 4th of July

I love a painting by Edward Moran called "Unveiling the Statue of Liberty, October 28, 1886." Moran really captures the excitement of the moment as New Yorkers jumped in their boats and filled New York Harbor for the official debut of Bartholdi's Statue of Liberty.
Here for the Statue of Liberty Metal Case I've taken Moran's painting and put it on one of my metal cigarette cases. Available at my eBay store, All-4-Corners.

    Jowett Jupiter - Watchified

No Jowett Jupiter in the garage! How about one for the wrist? The Jowett Jupiter MkI...what a fabulous car. These were made by Jowett Cars of Bradford, England in the early 50s. Total production was only 900 cars, of which probably 4 or 5 hundred still survive.
I probably won't ever own a Jupiter, since I don't have an extra 30-grand lying around. So this watch will have to do! I've designed these to resemble the Jowett speedometer of the period and splashed a pretty red Jupiter right across the top.
This Jowett Jupiter Wristwatch, as well as a identical design clock, is available at my eBay store, All-4-Corners.

Bow Down to the Devil Hounds

While awaiting inspiration I put together a new t-shirt for my RetroRanger store at Cafepress. This is a mega-macho design for the Devil Hounds...a football team which exists only in the deep recesses of my mind.

Recurring Dream: We're on the high school practice field, me and the rest of the marching band. Its a serious practice because sectionals are this weekend. Its hot. Hotter then Hell hot. The only one not wilting under the blazing sun is the BD...Mr. Beezleboob. When suddenly from the south endzone comes a howling, screaming, blood-thirsty team of uber-steroided football players. Oh my God, The Devil Hounds!

Did I mention we were naked?

Now you can dress like a Devil Hound! Now you can terrorize the naked band geeks! Get your Devil Hounds Gear at RetroRanger.
